About the Event
The Douglas County Lamb Show is one of the longest-running agricultural traditions in the Umpqua Valley — a beloved community event celebrating the hard work, dedication, and skill of local youth and shepherds alike.
Started in 1940 and now in its 87th year, this annual gathering brings together 4-H members, FFA chapters, open-class competitors, and families from across Douglas County for a full day of competition, camaraderie, and country cooking.
Whether you're cheering on a young exhibitor, bidding at the Junior Market Auction, or simply enjoying a plate of slow-cooked lamb at the BBQ, there's something here for everyone. It's free to attend — come be part of the tradition.

Rotary Club of Roseburg
The Rotary Club of Roseburg has been a proud partner of the Douglas County Lamb Show for many years running. Every year, Rotary volunteers roll up their sleeves to cook and serve the beloved Lamb BBQ starting at 4:30 PM — a tradition that draws hundreds of community members to the Fairgrounds.
Rotary also hosts and coordinates the Junior Market Auction at 7:00 PM, where local 4-H and FFA youth sell the animals they've raised throughout the year. The proceeds from the auction go directly back to these young exhibitors, helping fund their continued participation in agricultural programs across Douglas County.
This is what Rotary is all about — neighbors helping neighbors, investing in youth, and strengthening the fabric of the communities we call home. We are honored to assist with this event every single year.
The 87th Annual Douglas County Lamb Show & BBQ is a free, family-friendly event that supports local youth and celebrates our agricultural heritage. Bring the whole family and see you at the Fairgrounds!
